Kangaroo (also released as "The Australian Story"), the 1952 Lewis Milestone Australian/U.S. romantic historical adventure melodrama ("The cry of mighty adventure!"; "Dedicated to the Pioneers who made Australia Great!"; "Made in Australia"; "Leaping out of the land that time forgot"; "From a story by Martin Berkeley"; "Produced by Darryl F. Zanuck"; this movie was the first Technicolor movie filmed on-location in Australia) starring Maureen O'Hara, Peter Lawford, Finlay Currie, Richard Boone, Chips Rafferty, Charles 'Buddy' Tingwell and "Tremendous Australian cast"

Important Added Info: Note that this script is the first continuity draft from May 11, 1949 and the screenplay was written by Martin Berkeley. Also note that the script has the working title "Sundowner", but the movie ultimately was called "Kangaroo". Note that included with the script is a copy of a letter from Joseph Breen of the Motion Picture Association of America to 20th Century-Fox telling what parts of the script Mr. Breen found unacceptable (and to show just how silly the censorship was at that time, Breen comments that "the line '...Thank Gawd for it' must be delivered with proper reverence"!). Also included is an inter-office correspondence memo from Darryl F. Zanuck telling his assistants to run the 20th Century-Fox film "Western Union" for the screenwriter Martin Berkeley, so that he can then adapt it to fit Australia around 1900 (he stresses that he wants the exact same plot and ingredients, just transferred to Australia).

Condition: very good to fine. The first interior page had a form that was signed by the person receiving the script and it had perforations in the bottom one-third of that page, and that form has been removed from that page (which is as intended, and is typical with such scripts). This was the way the studio kept track of who had these scripts!
