An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Six-Sheet Movie Poster (6sh; measures 81" x 81" [206 x 206 cm]) (Learn More) Chick Carter, Detective, Master Mystery-Smasher, the 1946 Derwin Abrahams detective mystery crime action serial ("The Master Mystery-Smasher smashes through again!"; "The Master Sleuth of Shadow Magazine, Shadow Comics and Radio On the Screen at Last!"; "Doomed to a date with death!"; "A death-dealing double-cross!"; "Based upon the celebrated character of Shadow Magazine, Shadow Comics and Radio") starring Lyle Talbot (in the title role as Chick Carter), Douglas Fowley, Julie Gibson, Pamela Blake, Eddie Acuff, and George Meeker. Note that Chick Carter had great success in pulp magazines, comic books, and on his radio show, and they made this movie adaptation about him. But sadly, he is virtually completely forgotten today! Important Added Info: Note that, for unknown reasons, first release posters from this 1946 serial are beyond rare! In the past, we have only auctioned a two one-sheets and some lobby cards, and never any other posters. Now we have been consigned this wonderful six-sheet with great full pulp art! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at some crossfolds and some creases, tears, and tiny paper loss on many parts of some foldlines. It had some faint smudges in the yellow background areas and some tiny bits of surface paper loss in the bottom left corner of the card. There were tears, smudges, and tiny paper loss in the borders. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
