Julie Capriotti (known as "The Sweetheart of Magic") was a stage performer and magician from the 1930s to the 1970s. She was accidentally injured in 1930 by Virgil the Magician when she came up to help him on stage. Through this incident they fell in love and married in 1931, and Julie became part of the show. In 1952, Virgil and Julie started a world tour (with 33 tons of equipment) which lasted five years. Returning to America, the couple continued touring the U.S. and Canada annually through 1978. The couple retired to the home they had built in 1965 overlooking Boston Harbor in Olympia, Washington
