An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) MGM Kartoon Karnival, the 1954 MGM animated animation cartoon comedy short poster featuring great images of Tom & Jerry, Spike & Tyke, Barney Bear, Lucky Ducky, and Tex Avery's Droopy. We don't know if this was a poster that was used when a specific group of MGM cartoons were shown, perhaps joined together into a compilation feature. If there was such a feature film made up of specific MGM cartoons, we have not been able to find information about it or what specific cartoons it contained. Note that there is also a 1952 MGM cartoon poster that says "Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Cartoon", which IS a stock poster, because it has a space in it to overprint with a specific cartoon name, which this poster does not have. There is also a 1955 MGM cartoon poster that says "MGM Cartoons", and that poster is like this one, and it does not have a blank area, so that one also might be for a specific group of cartoons, perhaps joined in a feature. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds. It had a horizontal fold 4" from the top of the poster, and it had tiny bits of paper loss in the top quarter of the vertical fold and minor wear on the other folds. It had some tears and small paper loss around the edges. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
