Date Sold 11/8/2007Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 12 Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" Movie Stills (Learn More) Serpico, the classic 1974 Sidney Lumet Italian/U.S. police-corruption crime thriller ("Many of his fellow officers considered him the most dangerous man alive - an honest cop."; "Based on the book by Peter Maas"; produced by Dino De Laurentiis; loosely based on the real life New York City policeman, Frank Serpico, who cooperated with non-police to expose corruption within the police department, and he was vilified by the police as a result) starring Al Pacino (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; in the title role as Frank Serpico), John Randolph, Jack Kehoe, M. Emmet Walsh, F. Murray Abraham, and Tony Lo Bianco NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: SUPER IMPORTANT! THIS LOT CONTAINS 12 STILLS, BUT ONLY FOUR OF THE STILLS ARE PICTURED! THE HIGH BIDDER ON THIS LOT WILL RECEIVE 12 STILLS FROM THIS MOVIE, and NOT just the four pictured! We realize there is an element of gambling to this, but we made no effort to find the best four stills in the lot, and, if you have any willingness to gamble at all, you may find that you get some great stills that were not pictured! Please do NOT bid on this lot unless you can accept that you are only seeing four of the stills. Note that a paper snipe was glued to the back of each still, and then folded over to the front. Normally, this was done rather than gluing the snipe to the back, so that the snipe could be unfolded and the still could be displayed with the snipe unfolded, which would let moviegoers read the information on the snipe in the lobby. However, these snipes were glued on so that some of the written portion is only readable when the snipe is folded over the bottom of the still, which slightly defeats this purpose (although one can see the top of the still and the snipe at the same time, which could not be done if the snipe was glued on the back). This was done with many stills of the 1930s, but often, the snipes are either partially or completely lost, because it is easier for them to be torn off. UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED, THE SNIPE DOES NOT HAVE ANY EFFECT ON THE FRONT OF THE STILLS! Condition: fine. Most of the stills have yellow blue stains on the captions, but the stills are not affected and are in wonderful condition! Learn More about condition grades
