Sidney Lumet was a director from the 1950s to the 2000s. He started as an actor in the late 1930s, but switched to directing, and was one of the top TV directors in the 1950s. In 1957, he directed his first feature film, 12 Angry Men, which made him a top Hollywood director. Some of his other movies include: The Fugitive Kind, The Anderson Tapes, Serpico, Dog Day Afternoon, Network, and A Stranger Among Us. He passed away in 2011 at the age of 86.
