Important Added Info: Note that Warner Bros. re-released this great movie in 1957 (after James Dean's tragic death, which made him a superstar), with posters that were similar to those of the original 1955 release, but with slightly altered images or taglines. The movie paper from this 1957 re-release are far more rare than that of the 1955 first release, likely because it did not play in as many theaters. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tears and small paper loss in the right half of the middle fold, with paper loss in the vertical fold above and below the bottom crossfold. There was an extra horizontal fold 1" below the regular bottom one and a long cut in the lower left of the poster, running at a slight diagonal through the top of the word "CAUSE". There was a diagonal fold above the right half of the top horizontal fold, running through Dean's neck and the top of his jacket. There were some tiny bits of paper loss scattered on parts of several folds, with pinholes, tears, and paper loss in the blank borders. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
