Date Sold 1/10/2017Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Argentinean Movie Poster (measures 14 1/4" x 28 1/4" [36 x 72 cm]) (Learn More) Broken Hearts of Hollywood, the 1926 Lloyd Bacon silent Los Angeles California movie making acting romantic love triangle melodrama (about a former female Hollywood star who leaves her husband and child to return to acting, but because she is older, she can't get parts; her teenage daughter follows her and tries to become an actress, and she meets a teenage boy who feels the same way; after many adventures, including the teenage girl sleeping with a star actor to get a role in his new movie, the star is murdered by the girl's mother, but she is acquitted when the story is told) starring Patsy Ruth Miller, Louise Dresser, Douglas Fairbanks Jr. (as the teenage would-be actor), and Dick Sutherland. Note that star Douglas Fairbanks Jr. was just 17 when the movie was made, and yet he received third billing after a handful of low-billed roles (of course, the fact that his father was Douglas Fairbanks Sr. likely had nothing to do with that!). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is one of a remarkable find of 143 Argentinean posters from 1926 to 1929 that were recently discovered! They all measure approximately 14 1/4" x 28 1/4", which was one of the two main sizes created for Argentinean movie posters at that time (the other was a poster that measured 29" x 43"). It is likely that prior to this amazing find, there were only a small number of these posters known to exist in the entire world, and after these 143 are auctioned, it is unlikely that there will be many more discovered, even over the coming decades! This is a rare opportunity to purchase an Argentinean poster from the late 1920s, a time when virtually no movie posters from any country are known to exist! Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: very good. There are a few minor patches of slight discoloration scattered in various areas (more so along the foldlines), typical of Argentinean posters of this time period. It is otherwise in pretty nice condition. Learn More about condition grades
