An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (pb; measures 12" x 18"; 12 pages) (Learn More)

the 1953 double-bill release of Fort Apache, the 1948 John Ford U.S. Cavalry Native American Indian cowboy western ("John Ford's Masterpiece of the Frontier!"; based on the James Warner Bellah story, "Massacre"; about a Civil War hero who is transferred to a western regiment, obviously based on General Custer, and he wants to have added glory by killing Cochise, but the local captain, played by Wayne, does not feel the Indians are in the wrong, but the Colonel persists, and many of his men are massacred, similar to what actually happened at Little Big Horn) starring John Wayne, Henry Fonda, Shirley Temple, Pedro Armendariz, Ward Bond, George O'Brien, Victor McLaglen, Anna Lee, Irene Rich, Dick Foran, Guy Kibbee, Grant Withers, Mae Marsh, John Agar (billed as "and introducing John Agar"), and Miguel Inclan (as Cochise). Note that this was the first of the three John Ford/John Wayne cavalry movies (the second was "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon" in 1949, and the third was "Rio Grande" in 1950). AND Blood on the Moon, the 1949 Robert Wise cowboy western crime film noir ("He met his match, and his fate, in her arms!"; "A woman's bullet kills as quick as a man's!"; "When there's Blood on the Moon ...death lurks in the Shadows!") starring Robert Mitchum, Barbara Bel Geddes, Robert Preston, Walter Brennan, Phyllis Thaxter, Frank Faylen, Tom Tyler, and Tom Tully

Condition: very good, NO CUTS. Note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of the pressbook, plus an image of any supplements or heralds (if there are any included with this pressbook), but of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are selling (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Also note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners purchased pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut!
