Special Notes About This Thursday's Items

A Special Note About Our Current 999 Items:
Many of the items we are currently auctioning are "oversized", meaning that they can't be sent in our regular standard-sized flat mailers (and NONE of them can be rolled in a tube). THERE ARE A FEW EXCEPTIONS; SEE THE SHIPPING SECTION BELOW. Basically, this auction contains items that measure larger 11" x 14", but smaller than 14" x 22" (when folded as far as they can be folded).  We sell items that measure OVER 14" x 22", and must be sent in flat packages in their own auction, and we sell the items that measure 11" x 14" or under and must be sent in flat packages in a special separate auction of their own.  Because these items need to go in oversized flat packages, you will have to pay $1 more U.S. shipping (and possibly a lot more if you live outside the U.S.).  In many cases, we will actually lose money on shipping because many packages from this auction will cost more (some, much more) than the $10 U.S. shipping charge, but we are absorbing this loss as a "thank you" to our customers!

A Special Note About Pressbooks:

We are selling a remarkable collection of 999 pressbooks this week! While a lot of the pressbooks that exist have ads cut out of them (this is only logical, since they were created with the intention that the theater owners would cut them up and create their own newspaper ads from them), 83% of the 999 pressbooks we are selling this week are COMPLETE AND UNCUT (only 170 of them have either missing pages or ads cut out, and we clearly note which those are).  Many collectors have been discovering pressbooks, which have the appeal of both movie posters and magazine type items, and collectors quickly learn that many of them are quite scarce, and especially difficult to find completely uncut.  The collection offered this week provides a rare opportunity to locate a wide variety of pressbooks, covering all years and genres (including 175 from horror/sci-fi movies!), and most of them are complete and uncut!
NOTE THAT WE MAKE IT IMMEDIATELY OBVIOUS WHETHER A PRESSBOOK HAS "CUTS" OR IS "UNCUT"! We put "NO CUTS" after the overall condition grade of the uncut pressbooks, and we put "but WITH CUTS" after the condition grade of the cut pressbooks.  Some pressbooks are in pretty nice condition except for an ad being cut out. But to try to be consistent, we graded those as being in "good to very good" condition, and we graded the rest of the cut pressbooks (the ones with additional defects) as being in "good" or "fair" condition. But if you are the type of collector who can live with cuts in pressbooks, know that the cut pressbooks that are graded "good to very good" are actually mostly in pretty nice condition other than the cuts.

About the Condition

Note that we give a detailed overall condition grade to every item we sell ("fine", "very good to fine", "very good", "good to very good", "good", and "fair", with only a few graded "poor") along with more details about the condition described in words (but pretty much only if they are defects that CAN'T be seen in our super-sized images, or if the item is especially valuable).  We felt this would help bidders identify items they want to bid on more easily.  Of course, we still strongly recommend that you look at our super-sized image to see the extent of the defects that we describe and to examine the poster for minor defects that we did NOT describe.

Payment Options
We accept all major credit cards, either directly over the phone at 417-256-9616 during our regular business hours which are Monday to Friday, 9 AM CST to 5 PM CST except between 12 and 1 when we take lunch, or you can e-mail us payment details, and there are still a few people who fax us!

If you like to pay via Paypal
(our PayPal e-mail is "mail@emovieposter.com"), that is fine, but know that PayPal has many glitches, and you should ABSOLUTELY e-mail us separately when you send us a PayPal payment!

You can send a check or money order (if you do, enclose your address and details about what you purchased) to:
Bruce Hershenson
Attn: Payments
P.O. Box 874
West Plains, MO 65775

If it is your best payment option, you can pay by Western Union (unlike SOME auction sites, we are not prejudiced against Western Union!). But please don't send cash (as we can't be responsible for lost cash)!

U.S. Shipping Details

As a special offer to our customers, U.S. buyers need to enclose $10 shipping no matter how many items you win!

Why $10 shipping this week?

This week only (because we are selling pressbooks which do not fit in our standard mailers (with a few exceptions; see directly below), and will need to be sent in large oversized mailers, or between six heavy pieces of large cardboard), all U.S. buyers must pay a total of $10 (ten) shipping, whether you buy 1 item or 100 (or any number in-between).  Note that we FULLY INSURE EVERY U.S. order we send! We will spend the shipping collected on virtually all orders, and we spend far more on those that involve lots of items and high dollar items.

A few of the items this week are not oversized!

Note that a few of the items we are selling this week are not technically "oversized", because they can be folded down to a size that fits in our standard mailers. If the pressbooks have not "lost their fold" any, then we WILL re-fold those items, but of course, we can only do that if you solely purchase items that have not "lost their fold" (those are clearly identified on each individual auction).

WE ARE NOT TRYING TO MAKE MONEY ON SHIPPING!

In fact, when we sold these items on eBay in the past, we charged $13 for U.S. shipping, but we are making this special "$10 U.S. shipping" offer this week, as a special discount to our buyers in our auctions on our own site, even though this means we will lose money on shipping virtually every U.S. package!

Will your order be shipped to you by UPS?
UPS does NOT automatically require a signature to deliver packages, so if you want the signature to be required, you will need to pay the extra $2.50 UPS charges for "signature required" Delivery Confirmation, and please realize that they will then NOT leave the package, and you may well have to go to the UPS facility yourself to pick it up.  But if you prefer this, that is fine, and if you have any other special requirements, please tell us when you are paying for your order.  IF YOU DO NOT SPECIFY THAT YOU WANT SIGNATURE REQUIRED, THEN YOUR PACKAGE WILL BE SENT WITHOUT SIGNATURE REQUIRED!

You CAN usually combine shipment!
(NOTE: These Thursday items must be sent in "oversized" flat packages and can NOT be combined with the mostly linenbacked posters we auctioned 4/7 & 4/9, but CAN be combined with the window cards we are auctioning 4/14, and can NOT be combined with the half-sheets, Japanese posters, inserts, or Italian locandinas we will be auctioning from 4/14 to 4/23)
Note that we not only allow you to combine as many items as you want from a single set of EITHER Tuesday or Thursday auctions, and still pay only a single shipping charge for all of the items, but we also allow you to wait until the next three sets of auctions end (a total of four sets of auctions) so that you can combine your current purchases with those of our following auctions (if possible), and that means there is a chance you could combine items from up to four of our sets of auctions, and still pay only a single shipping charge (assuming those items fit into the same type of package). We KNOW there are other sellers who charge a little less on shipping than we do, but we know that our packaging is the best there is, and our orders virtually never arrive damaged (and on the very rare times that they do, all our U.S. packages are fully insured, and FULL INSURANCE IS INCLUDED IN THE U.S. SHIPPING CHARGE).

DON'T BID ON OUR ITEMS UNLESS YOU WILL PAY THE $10 U.S. SHIPPING!

Non-U.S. Shipping Details

Non-U.S. buyers must pay the actual cost of shipping their order (you can choose whatever method you prefer, but know that the U.S. Post Office has eliminated Surface Mail, so we can only send via Express or Airmail), plus $2 for the best packaging materials you have ever seen.  All non-U.S. buyers must tell us if they want the package sent insured or uninsured at the time they pay for their order.

Here is a chart containing estimated shipping charges for up to 3 items from this week's auctions

Do you have a friend or relative who lives in the United States? Some of our customers either visit the U.S. regularly, or have friends or relatives within the U.S., and often those customers have us send their orders to a U.S. address, and then they transport the posters from there. THIS CAN SAVE YOU A GREAT DEAL ON SHIPPING! This is fine with us, but realize that you still need to let us know within one week of receipt if you want to return anything, so don't use this method unless you are certain you will want to keep your purchases.

DON'T BID ON OUR ITEMS UNLESS YOU WILL PAY THE ACTUAL COST OF SHIPPING (the actual cost of shipping plus $2 outside the U.S.)!

You Can Add More to Your Order
In addition to our current auctions, we offer many other non-auction items. Please note that the items in this week's auction will mostly be sent rolled in tubes, so you can add any item that can easily be rolled for no additional shipping costs. We have noted in each paragraph below whether the items can be shipped rolled or not.
2008 Movie Poster Sales Results! (can be shipped rolled or flat)

This new edition includes 25,000 verified sales results from our 2007 sales and contains NO duplication to our previous editions! We are offering the brand new 2008 edition for the cover price of $10, or you can order it, plus the previous four editions for a total of $15, a great savings of $35 off of the combined cover prices! Go to our "Other Publications" books page at http://www.emovieposter.com/books/books.php?section=nonBruce to learn more and to order!

Illustration Magazines (can be shipped flat only)

Know that we also sell several other movie poster-related publications, so now is a good time to pick up items you may have missed! We have copies of a great full-color magazine entirely devoted to the great legendary poster artist, Bob Peak! This magazine (called Illustration Magazine #6) has tons of full-color images, all shot directly from Peak's originals, and has a great in-depth overview of Peak's entire career, written by his son! It sells for $9 and it is almost completely sold out, but if you want a copy, just enclose $9 with your order! We also have copies of Illustration Magazine #7, which has a long article on master horror/sci-fi illustrator Reynold Brown, with many full-color images shot directly from his originals, and that issue is also just $9.

Movie Collectors World (can be shipped rolled or flat)

We also offer the latest issue of Movie Collectors World to all our buyers (the latest is the May issue, which we just received). This magazine has been published for over 30 years and is the "Bible" of the movie poster collecting hobby! The cover price is $3.00. If you want a copy of the May issue added to your order for $3.00 (with NO additional shipping), just let us know when you pay for your order and we will include it!

Fixed Price Posters (most can be shipped rolled but not all can be sent flat; if an item has a "UF" or "TF" in the description, it can only be shipped rolled, but if it has a "FF" in the description, it can likely be sent rolled or flat; please check with us if you are unsure)

WE CURRENTLY HAVE 422 MOVIE POSTERS ON OUR WEBSITE AS "FIXED PRICE" ITEMS!
Click HERE to view these Fixed Price posters on our website (many of them are one-sheets). If we can combine any of the Fixed Price items with your current purchases into a single package, then we won't charge you any added shipping!

We have just added LOTS of new Fixed Price posters!
