An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More) Waterloo Bridge, the 1940 Mervyn LeRoy World War II (WWII) military romantic tearjerker melodrama ("'Can't you see the truth? Don't make me tell you what I've been!'"; based on the play by Robert E. Sherwood; about a World War I soldier whose sweetheart descends into a wretched life after she hears he was killed in the war, but he wasn't killed, and he finds her years later) starring Vivien Leigh ("Vivien Leigh's first role since 'Gone with the Wind'!"), Robert Taylor, Lucile Watson, Virginia Field, Maria Ouspenskaya, and C. Aubrey Smith. Note that there was an earlier version of this movie under the same title made in 1931 by James Whale, starring Mae Clarke, with Bette Davis in a small role. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: fine. This glass slide is in really excellent condition, and we feel that EVERY collector would be happy to own it. It IS possible it may have an extremely MINOR defect or defects, but nothing at all significant. We bet many dealers would call items in this grade "mint" or "near mint"!
