Mason Hopper family relationship father/son crime melodrama ("Original story and adaptation by George Drumgold, Houston Branch and Peggy Prior"; a great story of a husband and father who leaves home and becomes a hobo, and then he becomes a crook together with two others; but when he returns to his home town, he finds his wife has died and his young son is an orphan, and he "goes straight", but only after stealing enough money to send the son to military school, and then he gets a job there, but never revealing to his son that he is his father; but he mentors the boy and teaches him how to ride a horse and play a bugle; but then his old crime partners show up and blackmail him into robbing the military academy with them, and then the son walks in on them, and his dad takes a bullet intended for the son, and the father is buried at the military academy, and his son plays Taps at his funeral, never knowing it is for his own father) starring Louis Wolheim, Frank Coghlan Jr. (billed as "Junior Coghlan"), Philippe De Lacy, Anita Louise, C. Montague Shaw, Maurice Black, and Kewpie Morgan. Note that this was apparently one of those movies where there was both a sound version and a silent version (although the silent version had a synchronized score and sound effects). If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: fine. The slide is in wonderful condition! Learn More about condition grades
