She makes her husband keep away -- she won't let the stranger go."; about two adult men obsessed with a teenage girl, based on the play by Tennessee Williams, with "Story and Screen Play by Tennessee Williams") starring Karl Malden, Carroll Baker (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; "Her name is Carroll Baker! Her role is raw electricity! Her portrayal is a sensation!"), Eli Wallach, Mildred Dunnock (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), and Lonny Chapman NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this British quad measures 30" x 39", but it does not appear to have been trimmed. Condition: good. The poster was folded in the usual way, and there were some creases on most foldlines. There were pinholes in the corners and creases and tears in the borders. The poster was mounted on to a very thin linen, and was then roughly handled, and now there are a lot of horizontal creases throughout the poster, more so across the middle of the image. If I owned this poster, I would surely have it re-backed. After it is properly linenbacked, the creases would likely be far less noticeable. This poster was linenbacked, and it had significant defects which were only somewhat repaired during the linenbacking process, or were not repaired at all (we describe both the defects as well as the quality of the restoration below, and based on those comments, you can easily determine which type of poster it is). You should also look at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!).
