An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Swedish Movie Poster (measures 27 1/2" x 39 1/4") (Learn More)

Front Page, the classic 1931 Lewis Milestone (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) newspaper journalism comedy (nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; produced by Howard Hughes; written by Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur; later remade as "His Girl Friday" with Rosalind Russell playing one of the leads, which was originally a male part!) starring Adolphe Menjou (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Pat O'Brien, Mae Clarke, Mary Brian, Edward Everett Horton, Walter Catlett, George E. Stone, and Slim Summerville. Note that this movie was remade in 1940 with the changed title "His Girl Friday" (the title change was necessary because of the brilliant change in casting of having a woman play one of the lead roles!). It was directed by Howard Hawks, with Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell in the lead roles.

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.

Condition: very good to fine. The poster was never folded. It had a 1/2" x 2" area of paper loss in the middle of the left border (only blank white paper and the solid red background area), and it had a few creases and tears in the borders. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well.
