A 1921 Re-Release Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

All Night, the 1918 Paul Powell silent mistaken identity romantic slapstick comedy farce (the movie would seem better suited to Buster Keaton than young Rudolph Valentino, because it is an elaborate comedy farce where Valentino and his girlfriend go to their friend's house so that he can propose to her, but their friends are expecting a crazy millionaire who may financially back them, and their servants, who have not been paid, quit, and they ask Valentino and his girlfriend to pose as themselves, while they will take the place of the missing servants, so that the millionaire won't realize how badly off they are!; after many gags about everybody pretending to be someone they are not, and much sexual innuendo, everyone confesses to the millionaire, who says he is impressed by their cleverness, and agrees to back them!) starring Carmel Myers, Rudolph Valentino (billed as "Rodolfo di Valentina"), Charles Dorian, Mary Warren, and William Dyer. Note that Rudolph Valentino was far from an overnight success! He had appeared in nine very minor roles between 1914 and 1918, and then he starred in this movie. Because he was born "Rodolfo Alfonzo Raffaello Pierre Filibert Guglielmi di Valentina d'Antonguolla", the studio chose to bill him as "Rodolfo di Valentina". He would appear in thirteen movies in 1919 and 1920, billed under a variety of names, including as Rodolfo di Valentini, Rudolpho De Valintine, M. Rodolpho De Valentina, Rudolph Volantino, Rodolph Valentine, Rudolph Valentine, Rodolph Valentino, and Rudolph Valentine! Finally, in 1921, he had a massive success in his non-top-billed role in "The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse", followed immediately by "The Sheik", and that made him a superstar.

Important Added Info: Note that movie paper from this early Valentino movie is incredibly scarce. We have never auctioned anything from the 1918 first release, and we have only previously auctioned a half-sheet from this 1921 re-release, and no other posters or lobby cards. Note also that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: very good. There is a sticker on back of the card but it does not effect the front (not put there for any restoration purpose)
