Carmel Myers was an actress from the 1910s to the 1950s. She was Jewish, with an Australian father and Austrian mother, but born in San Francisco. She had great success starting in the late 1910s, and she successfully made the transition to sound movies, but because she was then in her 30s, she had to switch to character roles, and she pretty much retired, although she came out of retirement occasionally for a few film parts, and she had also her own TV show in 1951. Some of her movies include: the 1925 version of Ben-Hur, Intolerance, Tell It to the Marines, Show of Shows, and Svengali. Myers passed away in 1980 at the age of 81.
