An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded German Movie Poster (measures 37 1/2" x 56" [95 x 142 cm]) (Learn More)

Die Koffer des Herrn O.F. (released in English-speaking countries as "Build and Marry"), the 1931 Alexis Granowsky German Depression era comedy farce (about a small town in Germany where the local hotel is informed that they are about to have a very rich guest, and a journalist and an architect seize on this as an excuse to modernize the town so that the rich man feels at home, and this sets off such a rush of building and rebuilding in the town that the town does not feel the effects of the worldwide depression, and no one cares when the rich man never shows up!) starring Alfred Abel, Peter Lorre (as the journalist), Harald Paulsen, Ludwig Stossel, Hedy Lamarr (in her third movie role, billed under her real name, "Hedy Kiesler"!), and Margo Lion. Note that Peter Lorre was in this movie AFTER he made "M" (but it seems likely it was released prior to "M" receiving worldwide acclaim).

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this is a very rare "country of origin" poster from Germany from before World War II. There are very few German movie posters from before World War II in existence (because of the massive paper shortages in Germany during World War II), and most of those few are in museums.

Condition: good. The poster is fragile. It has darkened on the folds and it has tears and tiny paper loss on parts of most foldlines, and in parts of the borders. The poster is in urgent need of expert professional restoration. But the poster is mostly "all there", and after linenbacking by a talented professional, the poster will look fantastic, and it will likely require little paint restoration within the image.
