ALFRED ABEL

Alfred Abel was a German actor from the 1910s to 1937. He did not get started in movies until he was 33 (in 1912), having studied forestry and gardening! He became one of Germany's very top actors in the 1920s, working with the very best directors, and having significant roles in many of the best films. Some of his movies include: Dr. Mabuse, The Gambler, Metropolis (both directed by Fritz Lang), The Phantom, and many others. He passed away in 1937 at the age of 58, having appeared in 128 movies!
