An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Argentinean Movie Poster (measures 29 1/2" x 43" [75 x 109 cm]) (Learn More) Waterloo Bridge, the 1940 Mervyn LeRoy World War II (WWII) military romantic tearjerker melodrama ("'Can't you see the truth? Don't make me tell you what I've been!'"; based on the play by Robert E. Sherwood; about a World War I soldier whose sweetheart descends into a wretched life after she hears he was killed in the war, but he wasn't killed, and he finds her years later) starring Vivien Leigh ("Vivien Leigh's first role since 'Gone with the Wind'!"), Robert Taylor, Lucile Watson, Virginia Field, Maria Ouspenskaya, and C. Aubrey Smith. Note that there was an earlier version of this movie under the same title made in 1931 by James Whale, starring Mae Clarke, with Bette Davis in a small role. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that apparently they had a similar situation in Argentina to that in the U.S., in that there was a large Spanish speaking population in America in the 1930s and 1940s, and studios would create dubbed versions of their movies in Spanish, and they would release them to U.S. theaters in areas that had large Spanish speaking populations, and they would print special posters that said "Toda en Espanol". This is the first Argentinean poster like that we have seen, which was apparently printed for use in areas of Argentina where Castilian was spoken, and there was a dubbed version of this movie created, and this poster reads "Toda en Castellano", which makes it a very interesting curiosity, because it is the only such poster we have ever seen! Condition: good to very good. Learn More about condition grades
