Star Wars (now known as "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope"), the classic 1977 George Lucas (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) outer space fantasy action adventure science fiction (sci-fi) epic ("A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..."; "George Lucas, the man who brought you American Graffiti now brings you an adventure as big as the cosmos itself: Star Wars, the story of a boy, a girl, and a universe. It's a spectacle light years ahead of its time from 20th Century Fox."; "Written and Directed by George Lucas"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Mark Hamill (as Luke Skywalker), Harrison Ford (as Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (as Princess Leia), Peter Cushing (as Grand Moff Tarkin), Alec Guinness (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film; as Obi-Wan Kenobi), Anthony Daniels (as C-3PO), James Earl Jones (as the voice of Darth Vader), David Prowse (billed as "Dave Prowse"; as the man inside the Darth Vader suit!), Peter Mayhew (as Chewbacca), Kenny Baker (as R2-D2), and Phil Brown (as Uncle Owen)

Important Added Info: This presskit contains 17 stills in a printed brown envelope (which we believe was "newspaper set A"), and a second brown envelope (that contains just the one still of Lucas and Guinness, which is in the 17 still set as well) and also an amazing 35 different supplements covering every aspect of the film, all from Bob Dingilian, the Director of National Publicity at Fox. We have previously auctioned a presskit that had 41 supplements, and we don't know if this presskit originally had those other six (it is quite possible that the theater that received this presskit only received the 35 supplements, because we have seen other presskits with lesser amounts of supplements, and it seems that there was no fixed number in each presskit. Also note that we have taken a picture of the cover of the presskit, ALL of the stills, and the inside of the folder containing the stills and supplements. We have noted that the presskit contains 35 supplements, but we do not picture them, and we do not picture the envelope. One of the supplements is the "Production Information Guide", which has a yellow cover and has 8 pages. The other 34 supplements mostly have 4 or 5 pages and are on 8 1/2" x 11" white sheets. All are stapled in the top left corner.

Condition: very good. The stills and the 35 supplements are in excellent condition. The presskit cover has many creases, scuffs, and some tiny bits of surface paper loss around the edges, and the bottom of the spine is splitting (see our images).
