An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22") (Learn More)

The Eternal Flame, the 1922 Frank Lloyd silent Napoleonic era romantic love triangle melodrama ("The drama magnificent"; "Personally directed by Frank Lloyd"; "adapted from Honore de Balzac's novel 'La Duchess de Langeais' by Frances Marion") starring Norma Talmadge, Adolphe Menjou (billed under his birth name of "Adolphe Jean Menjou"), Wedgwood Nowell, Conway Tearle, Rosemary Theby, and Kate Lester. Note that although Menjou had been in movies since 1914, he had little success until 1921, and this was one of his first major roles. Also note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.

Important Added Info:

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. Prior to linenbacking, the card had many stains, tears, and areas of paper loss around the edges, and stains in the white background areas, with just a few scratches in the middle and right of Talmadge's credit. But other than the many border and background defects, the image and title area were in surprisingly nice condition! Overall, the card was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The person who linenbacked the card did only the slightest of border and background restoration (but I would think another restorer could touch up those areas without re-backing the card). But please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its defects described above or are willing to pay to have further restoration performed!
