Note that Lawson Wood was an English artist best known for his humorous depictions of dinosaurs, cavemen, policemen, and animals. Note that the modern version of the circus started in 1919 when the Barnum & Bailey's Greatest Show on Earth, a circus created by P. T. Barnum and James Anthony Bailey, was merged with the Ringling Bros. World's Greatest Shows. With weakening attendance and high operating costs, the circus closed on May 21st, 2017 after 146 years. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a commercial reproduction of a circa 1943 circus poster, likely from the 1980s (but surely not much earlier, and possibly slightly later).
