An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

Tomorrow, the 1928 James Flood romantic "companionate marriage" melodrama (about a woman who is about to enter into a loveless marriage; see below; she soon divorces and has several worse relationships, and ends up murdering a man, but then she wakes up and it turns out it was all a dream) starring Patsy Ruth Miller, Lawrence Gray, Robert Edeson, Ralph Emerson, Shirley Palmer. Note that the IMDb says that the official name of this movie is "Marriage by Contract". However, the only items we have ever had from it are lobby cards that use the title "Tomorrow". It may be that "Marriage by Contract" was a working title and that it was changed to "Tomorrow" before its release, or the IMDb may simply be wrong. Also, this was one of several movies made around this time which dealt with a then current phenomenon called "companionate marriage", which meant that people would enter into loveless and sexless marriages with a written contract, just so that they would have a full time companion to do things with! Not surprisingly, this fad did not live long, but it did last long enough for several movies and books to be written with this concept in their plot. So not only did this movie revolve around a fad that did not last, but it also had the terrible "it was all a dream" ending, which may explain why movie paper on it is so rare, because maybe it was barely released, if at all. Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.
