Date Sold 10/11/2015Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) Soft Boiled, the 1923 John G. Blystone silent family relationship melodrama ("A Special Attraction"; "Surprised, beautiful girls and thrills"; "Story by Edward Moran"; a wacky story about a young cowboy whose uncle is rich, but he threatens to disinherit his nephew because of his hot temper, so he tells him that he has to not lose his temper for 30 days, thinking he can't do it, but he does make it, but the moment the 30 days are up, he takes revenge on everyone who insulted him during those 30 days!) starring Tom Mix, Tony (billed as "'Tony' the Wonder Horse"), Joseph W. Girard, Billie Dove, Lee Shumway, and Tom Wilson. Note that this is an unusual movie for Tom Mix, because it really isn't much of a cowboy movie at all! We have seen lobby cards where he is shown in a store, yet somehow he has enough scenes in a cowboy outfit to make it some kind of "cowboy" movie, and Tony his horse is there too! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: good. There is deterioration in the top left and top right of the slide that affects the studio credit and the background, but otherwise, the slide is in nice condition. We know that the slide can be restored by an expert, or one could live with these defects, but bear them in mind before placing a bid. Learn More about condition grades
