Date Sold 4/19/2016Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Trilby, the 1923 James Young silent Paris France evil-hypnotist-turns-simple-girl-into-great-singer melodrama ("Richard Walton Tully presents his screen version of George DuMaurier's famous novel") starring Andree Lafayette (in the title role as Trilby; billed as "The celebrated French star"), Creighton Hale, Arthur Edmund Carewe (as Svengali), Philo McCullough, and Francis McDonald (as Gecko). Note that this classic story had been adapted into a movie seven times prior to this adaptation, and in 1931, John Barrymore played Svengali, and there was a 1954 version as well! Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Archie Gunn Important Added Info: Note that for this set of lobby cards, First National had each one have an artwork image, and all of them somewhat appear to be "title cards". However, there is one of the artwork cards that has full credits, and that one IS the title card, and the other seven are scene cards. Condition: good to very good. The card was lightly folded down the middle and someone put cloth tape on the back of the fold. Learn More about condition grades
