An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Style B One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Caught Cheating, the 1931 Frank R. Strayer crime mistaken identity screwball comedy (a really wacky story of a man who gives a ride to a pretty redhead, and she turns out to be the runaway wife of a gangster who was cheating on him, and the gangster thinks the man who gave the ride is the man who she was cheating with!; the gangster invites the man to a masquerade ball, to be able to murder him, and of course, there are more mistaken identities at the masquerade ball, but everything works out in the end) starring Charles Murray (billed as "Charlie Murray"), George Sidney, Nita Martan, Dorothy Christy and Robert Ellis. Charles Murray was one of the pioneer actors of early motion pictures. He began acting in 1912 and appeared in 282 movies altogether, 172 of them from before 1920. He was 40 years old when he began acting, and he often played middle-aged man roles (and progressed to old man roles as he aged). He played the title role in the 1925 version of "The Wizard of Oz", and he appeared in the "Cohens & Kellys" series of movies, along with George Sidney (the two co-starred in this movie in between making some of the Cohens & Kellys movies). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that first release movie paper of any sort from this title is incredibly rare. We had never sold even one first release item of any kind until recently when another consignor sent us a much lesser condition example of the window card, but this one-sheet is, of course, far superior to that! It may be many years before we get anything else first release from this movie! Condition: good to very good. The poster had separation on parts of some folds and some tears and small paper loss in the borders. Someone put clear tape on the back of many of them many years ago. There was a tear in the middle right of the poster (in the background just below the credits) and someone put tape on the back of that, that has bled through to the front, and the same has happened to a tear in the right border. This would be a pretty simple linenbacking job for any talented professional! Learn More about condition grades
