Artist: Geffers Important Added Info: This East German poster measures approximately 23" x 33" and is linenbacked. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the restorer did a good job, but you can see signs of the restoration from inches away (since most people look at posters framed on a wall from at least a few feet away, we don't feel this is a defect, but we feel it should be noted). OR you can't see the restoration because it was so well done, but the poster had fairly significant defects. OR no restoration was performed, but the defects are not major, and restoration could be done to the poster without re-backing it. See below for its pre-restoration defects (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). poster has small holes at the crossfolds and minor smudges and creases throughout, as well as some tears on some foldlines. The poster has darkened somewhat on the foldlines. there are border defects, including tiny paper loss in the edges of the borders. The poster is well linenbacked but the person who did so pretty much just mounted the poster and left the minor defects alone. They are not very noticeable or distracting, but if they bother the new owner of the poster, a talented restorer could touch them up without rebacking the poster. Learn More about condition grades
