Bradbury cowboy western starring John Wayne, Sheila Terry, Jack Rockwell, George 'Gabby' Hayes, Jay Wisley (billed as "Buffalo Bill Jr."), Yakima Canutt, and Gordon De Main NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that first release 1934 lobby cards from this movie are impossible to find, and we have never auctioned any. There are two re-releases of this movie from the 1930s. Both are from Monogram, but one has Gabby Hayes billed, and that one is believed to be from 1939, and the other one does not have Gabby Hayes billed, and that one is believed to be from the 1930s (between 1935 and 1939). There are two types of lobby cards, which surely go to those two re-releases, but neither type of lobby card bills Gabby Hayes at all, so we don't know which type of card goes to which re-release. This card is the very first card we have auctioned from this re-release, and the card has a better design than the other type of cards, of which we have auctioned several examples. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Also note that this lobby card has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the lobby card was backed onto a very light paper backing (acid-free), that keeps the "feel" of the lobby card similar to that of the original lobby card. Some restorers prefer to paperback lobby cards on to a heavy backing, while others prefer to use a very lightweight backing. The advantage of a lightweight backing is that the card still "feels" like a regular lobby card, but a heavier backing makes restoration easier to do and less noticeable. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. Prior to paperbacking, the card had some creases and tears around the edges, with a few pinholes and tiny paper loss in the right of the bottom border. Overall, the lobby card was in good to very good condition prior to paperbacking. The card was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
