A 1929 Re-release Vintage Theatrical Local Theater Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The Eagle, the 1925 Clarence Brown silent Russia royal court romantic love triangle military melodrama ("Screen story by Hans Kraly"; about a Russian Cossack who spurns Catherine the Great, and she retaliates by stealing his property, and he becomes a masked avenger, getting vengeance, and falling in love with the daughter of the man who killed his father) starring Rudolph Valentino, Vilma Banky, Louise Dresser, Albert Conti, James A. Marcus, and Gary Cooper (in an uncredited bit part) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this title card was created by a local theater that was showing this movie in 1929 (it has "Modernized with music and sound" in the circle at lower left). It also says in that area "His most popular picture", which is certainly debatable, and it also says at lower right, "His Last Picture", which is absolutely not true, because Valentino made "Cobra" and "The Son of the Sheik" after "The Eagle", but of course, back then with no Internet, they probably figured no one would catch them in their "white lie"! Note that the words "CINEMA THEATRE" are printed in the center of the bottom border. There is a theater by this name in Rochester, New York, and it was opened in 1914, so we would imagine it is almost surely the theater that created this lobby card! Condition: good to very good. The card had a 2" tear with tiny paper loss in the center of the top border, and someone put tape on the back of that area. Learn More about condition grades
