Did you know... that even though everything we auction is consigned, we always have all the items here on our premises prior to each auction?
A LOT of our bidders know all about our auctions, because we have been
doing this for 24 years non-stop, the last 15 years on the Internet, and the last 6 1/2 years here
on our own site. But sometimes we forget that we get new bidders every single week, and that many of
them won't have taken the time to learn the many details about what makes us SO different
from EVERY other major auction, like our lack of buyers premiums, and our Lifetime Guarantee.
Some new bidders see the massive number of items we auction (2,000 to 3,000 every WEEK) and
they wrongly assume we may not actually have those items here, and that we are simply "middlemen".
We were recently asked the following:
"I just placed an order and was wondering if all posters are shipped directly from you or from the individuals who consign to you? I just wanted to know that the posters are protected by cardboard so the mail doesn't kill them. A lot of lazy sellers just stick them in an envelope and send them, resulting in the posters getting creased, folded, etc. at which point I return them."
To which we replied:
"This is Bruce, the owner. EVERY single item we auction has been consigned to us, and IN EVERY CASE the owners physically sent the posters to us. So everything is here when we auction it, and the day after the auction ends, we pack the posters for each buyer, so that we can quickly send them out, if the new owner wants.
We only use custom made extra strength shipping products (tubes, boards, and boxes), and we pack better than any other seller in the hobby (just ask anyone who has ordered from us!).
We get fewer than one in five thousand posters damaged during shipping, and everything is sent fully insured."
Of course, we don't only insist on having the items "in hand" solely because of how well we pack. We also do it so we can absolutely know the actual condition of each item, and most of all, that we know the item is HERE, and can't be "misplaced" (anyone who has done much buying on eBay has likely run into a seller who tells them, after they made a great buy, that the item was "misplaced" or "listed by mistake"). That NEVER happens in our auctions!
