Cool Item Of the Month: Day of Reckoning pressbookReturn to Cool Item of the Month Archive Added: 02/12/2024 As many of you know, I, Bruce Hershenson, owner of eMoviePoster.com, have collected pressbooks (and related movie paper like studio yearbooks) for over 30 years, and I have the world's foremost collection of such material. I thought I would share one item with you this week, the type of items you almost surely have never seen before, and which might not come up for sale for DECADES! This week, I have the pressbook from Day of Reckoning, the 1933 Charles Brabin prison crime embezzlement romantic love triangle melodrama (based on the novel by Morris Lavine; a really wild story about a henpecked husband whose shrewish wife gets him to embezzle money, and he is sent to prison, and she immediately takes up with a wealthy man, but "justice" is served when the wealthy man's ex-girlfriend kills her!) starring Richard Dix, Madge Evans, Conway Tearle, Una Merkel, Stuart Erwin, and George 'Spanky' McFarland (star of numerous "Our Gang" comedy shorts, in his first non-Our Gang role, as the hero's infant son!).
