An Original Vintage English Movie Trade Ad (measures 11" x 17" [28 x 43 cm]; 2 pages) (Learn More) Thumbs Up, the 1943 Joseph Santley World War II (WWII) London England musical women-at-war melodrama (an interesting film about an American girl in London who is trying to become a nightclub singer, and she hears about a singing contest for women who work at a local war plant, and she gets a job at the plant just so she can be in the singing contest, and when the other women at the plant find out about her plan, they ostracize her) starring Brenda Joyce, Richard Fraser, Elsa Lanchester, Arthur Margetson, Gertrude Niesen, Goerge Byron, and Wally Vernon, Sid Slate, and George Riley (billed as "The Hot Shots"; a comedy trio who appeared together in this one movie only, although they each had individual film careers) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is a great trade ad taken out of an issue of Kinematograph Weekly English trade magazine (we have 33 of them in this set of auctions). Studios would run these elaborate ads in issues of this magazine, and they often had images not found on any of the regular movie posters (either English or U.S.). This trade ad was removed from a 1943 issue of this magazine, and it will look incredible displayed on the new owner's wall. The back of this trade ad has text or ads for other movies from that time, and we have not pictured the back because the primary interest to bidders is the great ad we have pictured. Condition: very good. The ad was removed from a magazine (see above). It was the centerfold of the magazine so the pages are on a single sheet, and there are staple holes at the spine (see our image). Learn More about condition grades
