Whiteney Picture"; based on the novel by Alan Le May) starring John Wayne (as Ethan Edwards), Jeffrey Hunter, Vera Miles, Ward Bond, Natalie Wood, John Qualen, Olive Carey, Henry Brandon, Hank Worden, Robert Lyden, Walter Coy, Pippa Scott, Lana Wood, Dorothy Jordan, Beulah Archuletta, and Dorothy Jordan NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we previously auctioned this poster in our last Major auction, but the high bidder said that he had accidentally entered an extra digit on his bid, so we allowed him to cancel it, and we are re-auctioning it here. This is that same poster from the last auction, and it is still the only example that we have ever seen of this poster! Obviously, one would prefer to find it without the bottom 4" trimmed off, but since that only affects a very small portion of the poster, and since the image, title, and main credits are intact, this poster will still display wonderfully just as it is! Also note that the art is not signed, but it sure looks like the work of Luigi Martinati. If anyone knows for sure, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 39 1/4" x 50 3/4" [100 x 129 cm]. Condition: fair to good. The bottom 4" of the poster was neatly trimmed off. Fortunately, only the smallest credits and none of the image was affected. The poster is also fragile and has darkening and tears on parts of the folds. If I owned this wonderful poster, I would surely just have it backed exactly as it is, perhaps adding a blank white border at the bottom to match the other three blank white borders. It will look incredible on the new owner's wall! Learn More about condition grades
