Date Sold 1/27/2019Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Magazine Ad (measures 10 1/4" x 14" [26 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Walt Disney's The Sword and the Rose, the 1953 Ken Annakin (billed as "Kenneth Annakin") English Walt Disney medieval romantic adventure melodrama ("Now! Walt Disney brings new excitement to romance!"; "Starring a fiery new romantic team"; "starring a new romantic team"; "Emotional impact"; "Fiery new romantic team"; "Tumultuous action"; "Brawling, boisterous monarch"; "Pomp and pageantry"; "Memorable characters"; "from the famed Adventure Novel When Knighthood Was in Flower"; "An all live action picture") starring Richard Todd (as Charles Brandon), Glynis Johns (as Princess Mary Tudor), James Robertson Justice (as King Henry VIII), Michael Gough, Jane Barrett, Peter Copley, and D.A. Clarke-Smith (as Cardinal Wolsey). Note that this was based on the book When Knighthood was in Flower, and it seemed like an odd choice for a Walt Disney movie, given that the only previous two movie versions were in 1908 and 1922. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this ad was removed from a movie magazine that was printed when this movie first came out. There is printing on the reverse side of the ad, but we don't picture it, because it is surely of little interest. But this ad can be matted or framed for little money and makes a great inexpensive display! Condition: very good. The page was removed from a magazine. Learn More about condition grades
