An Original 1933 (from the first release of this movie in Denmark) Vintage Theatrical Danish 8 1/4" x 10 3/4" [21 x 27 cm] Movie Still (Learn More)

Vampyr - Der Traum des Allan Grey (commonly referred to simply as "Vampyr"; apparently released in English-speaking countries under a variety of titles such as "The Strange Adventure of David Gray", "Not Against The Flesh", but we have never seen any first release material with any of those titles!), the classic 1932 Carl Theodor Dreyer French/German vampire fantasy horror (based on the novel 'Carmilla' by Sheridan le Fanu; about a man who goes to a castle and initially scoffs at the local people's stories of an old female vampire, but eventually, he becomes a believer) starring Julian West (in the title role as Allan Grey), Maurice Schutz, Rena Mandel, Sybille Schmitz, Jan Hieronimko, Henriette Gerard (as the aged female vampire), Albert Bras, N. Babanini, and Jane Mora. Note that this is one of the most difficult classic horror titles to find any movie paper from, especially country of origin!
Important Added Info: Note that first release movie paper of any kind from this classic French/German movie is beyond rare! We have auctioned a single first release German lobby card which sold for $1,292 and three first release German programs, but otherwise, we have never had anything from the first release of this movie. This Danish still (which measures 8 1/4" x 10 3/4" [21 x 27 cm]) was once in the "Det Danske Filmmuseum", and it has stickers and stamps on the back of it. The sticker on the back identifies the movie as being from 1931, and it would appear to be from the first Danish release in 1933, but we can't say for certain. It has an embossed Danish censor stamp in the bottom right, and of course, we can't know when that was applied. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Condition: good. The still may have been trimmed (we don't know if it was, because we don't know exactly what size it originally was, but if it was, it has little effect on the image). It has pinholes in the corners, with small paper loss in two corners, and a few pinholes in the rest of the borders. There is an embossed Danish censor stamp at bottom right.
