An Unfolded Iranian Art Exhibition Poster (measures 18 1/4" x 27 1/2" [46 x 70 cm]) (Learn More) Shiraz Arts Festival (also known as the "Iran Festival of Arts") was an annual international arts festival (including films) that brought together the East and the West. It was held for eleven years from 1967 to 1977 in the city of Shiraz and Persepolis in central Iran by the initiative of Shahbanu Farah Pahlavi. The twelfth festival was cancelled at the onset of the Islamic Revolution in 1978 out of concern for the safety of the performers. Artist: Morteza Momayez Important Added Info: Note that silkscreen (also known as screen printing) is a printing technique whereby a mesh is used to transfer ink onto a poster. Only one color is printed at a time, so several screens must be used to produce a multicolored design, and it is a laborious technique because it is traditionally all done by hand. Because of the rich thickness of the layer of color on the paper and the resulting depth and brilliance achieved through silkscreen printing, this technique was preferred by many artists throughout many cultures and periods. Condition: very good. The poster has never been folded and it is in pretty nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
