NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Giorgio Olivetti Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this Italian two-panel, which is from the first Italian release of this classic movie. We have auctioned a number of one-panel and locandina re-releases from the 1960s and 1970s, but we have also never auctioned a re-release two-panel from any year, so this is the only two-panel we have ever auctioned from any release, and of course, this is from the rare first release! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had a tear in the upper right extending from the border into the blue background below the end of Lemmon's credit. Someone had put tape on the back of that and it had bled through to the front. It also had darkening through the center of Lemmon's credit, with small paper loss in the bottom of the "E" and darkening in the vertical fold 3" above that small paper loss. It had small paper loss at some other crossfolds and some small tears and tiny bits of paper loss on parts of other folds. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Learn More about condition grades
