Orwell's work remains influential in popular and political culture, and the adjective "Orwellian" (describing totalitarian and authoritarian social practices) is now part of the English language. He is best remembered for two of his novels: Animal Farm and Nineteen Eighty-Four (1984), both classics of dystopian fiction. He passed away in 1950 at the age of 46.
