All together!"; "Frankenstein's Monster, Wolf Man, Dracula, Mad Doctor, Hunchback"; the seventh Universal Frankenstein movie, and this was the second "all-star" movie, a sequel of sorts to "House of Frankenstein", with all of its best monsters brought together in a single movie!) starring Lon Chaney Jr. (as Lawrence Talbot/The Wolf Man), Martha O'Driscoll, John Carradine (as Count Dracula), Lionel Atwill, Onslow Stevens (taking over the role of The Mad Doctor from Boris Karloff), Glenn Strange (as Frankenstein's monster, uncredited on the "House of Frankenstein" posters, and credited here, but still not receiving the credit he deserved!), Jane Adams (as the hunchback nurse; oddly, she was sometimes billed by Universal as "Poni Adams"!), and Ludwig Stossel. Note that once again Universal has an extremely politically incorrect "hunchback" as a monster on par with Frankenstein, Dracula, and The Wolf Man, but in "House of Frankenstein", the hunchback was a man, and in this movie, the hunchback is a beautiful woman and a key plot point is that the mad doctor will "make her beautiful" by surgically fixing her hunch back! Important Added Info: Note that a knowledgeable collector tells us that the man helping Chaney is Walter De Palma, who was Chaney's uncredited stand-in for the film. Note that this is a negative that was in the camera when the photographer shot the photo (see below for more on this). We have put a scan of the negative that shows the "positive image" (in addition to a photo of the negative image, so you can better see its condition). REMEMBER THAT WHAT YOU RECEIVE WILL BE A PHOTOGRAPHIC NEGATIVE, NOT A POSITIVE IMAGE LIKE YOU ARE SEEING. However, we will provide the winning bidder of this auction that positive image scan that is both high quality and not watermarked (on request to the winning bidder, and only the winning bidder). We scanned it, so that bidders could see just how high quality it is. What are camera original negatives? These often (but not always) have retouching on the emulsion side, and negative numbers written in India ink on the front. Depending on the studio some 8x10 negatives may be trimmed or have numbers or information embedded into the sides of the negative. Obviously, camera original negatives are far more rare (and far more desirable) than studio-issued ones, but both are very high quality, and both can be used to make extremely high resolution positive prints of the image. Condition: good to very good. This has India ink numbering at the bottom, and retouching on the back that was done by the photographer. This has some dust, light scratches and other minor flaws that could easily be cleaned before printing or retouched after scanning. See our positive image for how great this looks!
