eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 1r767 NANOOK OF THE NORTH LC '22 Robert Flaherty, Nanook's son is a dimpled bud of frozen north! Date Sold 9/11/2014Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Nanook of the North, the classic 1922 Robert J. Flaherty U.S./French silent Arctic Eskimo Inuit documentary ("A Story Of Life And Love In The Actual Arctic"; "The truest and most human story of the Great White Snows"; "A picture with more drama, greater thrill, and stronger action than any picture you ever saw.") featuring Nanook, Nyla, Cunayou, Allee, and Allegoo. Note that this is a really wonderful documentary! In recent years, there has been a suggestion that some of it was "staged", and that Nanook was not really as he is portrayed in the movie, but that doesn't really matter. It really is a movie that everyone should see! Important Added Info: Note that first release 1922 movie paper of any kind from this classic documentary is incredibly rare. In all our years of auctioning, we have auctioned the original one-sheet and a single first release lobby card, and both of those were many years ago. We are very happy to receive one additional first release lobby card, because it may be many years before we receive another! Condition: fair. There are significant brown stains in the top center and top right. They are on the front and back of the card, so they are not something that can just be removed from the surface of the front. There are also smudges and stains around the edges, and tiny paper loss in the bottom right corner. There are two pinholes near the middle of the left blank border. It is definitely possible that some or much of the smudges and stains can be removed through chemical means, but please do not bid on this card unless you can accept its defects described above or are willing to pay to have it properly restored (and realize that there is no guarantee about how easy or difficult it will be to remove the smudges and stains). Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! Learn More about condition grades
