An Unfolded 1970s Commercial Poster (made to be sold directly to the public; measures 21 1/2" x 33 1/2" [55 x 85 cm]) (Learn More) Jimi Hendrix was an American rock 'n' roll (rock and roll) musician and singer-songwriter from the 1960s to 1970. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential electric guitarists in the history of popular music, and one of the most influential musicians of his era. He won several prestigious rock music awards during his lifetime (both as a solo artist and as part of The Jimi Hendrix Experience), and many more posthumously. The Jimi Hendrix Experience was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992 and the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2005. Sadly, he passed away in 1970 at the age of 27 from aspiration associated with barbiturate intoxication (making him part of the infamous '27 Club'). If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a most unusual commercial poster, because it has crushed black velvet that is slightly three dimensional from the non-black areas. You would think this was expensive to produce, and we can't imagine many of these have survived. We are currently auctioning several posters like these, one of each, and they are the only examples of these posters we have been consigned. Also note the poster has been trimmed to 21 1/2" x 33 1/2" Condition: good. The poster has a few scuff marks (see our image) and it has had the blank borders trimmed off (see our image).
