An Original Vintage Theatrical Deluxe 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More)

Baby Peggy was born Peggy-Jean Montgomery in 1918, she was the second most famous silent child actor after Jackie Coogan; she made around 150 comedy shorts between 1920 and 1923, and appeared in nine feature films; she preceded Shirley Temple by a generation, and appeared in the silent version of "Captain January", which was re-made with Shirley Temple in the lead role; like Jackie Coogan, her parents spent the huge amount of money she earned, and by the age of 8, she was washed up and broke; she attempted to make some sound movies as Peggy Montgomery, but with little success; she lived in poverty for many years and had several nervous breakdowns, but had a second career beginning in 1975 as a book publisher and writer under the name of "Diana Serra Cary", and she published an autobiography "Whatever Happened to Baby Peggy?" in 1996. She passed away in 2020 at the age of 101.

Condition: very good. The still has partially changed to a sepia color but is otherwise in excellent condition!
