An Original Vintage Theatrical Deluxe 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Harry Langdon was a slapstick comic actor from the 1920s to the 1940s. He ran away from home when he became a teen and he performed in vaudeville for over 20 years, and he went from town to town, and his best sketch was called "Johnny's New Car". He was signed to a movie contract in 1923 and Mack Sennett bought his contract and starred him in his first movie, "Picking Peaches". He then had the great fortune to be paired with young screenwriter Frank Capra, and together they had giant successes. But Langdon thought he could do it all and he fired Capra and had several bombs, and went bankrupt, and his career was never the same. However, he is one of the best remembered silent comedians after Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, and Harold Lloyd, and he continued in sound movies throughout the 1930s and 1940s. Some of his movies include: Tramp Tramp Tramp (which featured Joan Crawford in one of her very first major roles!), Hallelujah, I'm a Bum, and many more. Langdon passed away in 1944 at the age of 60. Important Added Info: Note that this is a deluxe still printed on double weight paper stock. Condition: very good. Note that the right border is slightly curled and that causes it to not lay completely flat. This causes a "distortion" in that area because it does not lay completely flat in our scanner, but this distortion is in our digital image, and NOT in the still itself. There are some tiny dot stains in the bottom right blank corner. Learn More about condition grades
