He started as a handsome young leading man, but he quickly transitioned to a character actor, and he had a long career! Some of his movies include: Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, and Bringing Up Baby. He passed away in 1963 at the age of 52 from cancer. Important Added Info: Note that this is one of five stills we are currently auctioning that come from the estate of studio photographer Floyd McCarty. Each of the five stills measured 10 1/2" x 13 1/2" [27 x 34 cm], and each still was mounted to a board that measured 10 1/2" X 14 1/2" and in the right of the bottom excess 1", McCarty signed his name and put "47" for the year he took the photo (all five photos were taken at the Warner Bros. studio, and they are candids of five Warner Bros. stars.
