eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result y292 RITA MORENO signed repro 8x10 movie still '70s sexy portrait! Date Sold 11/22/2007Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Autographed 8" x 10" Movie Still Reproduction (Learn More) Rita Moreno was born in Puerto Rico in 1931. She showed her amazing talents even as a teen, but because she was super sexy and "Latin", Hollywood stuck her solely in sexpot type roles (her first movie was So Young, So Bad, in 1950!) and in 1954 she was even on the cover of Life magazine in a sexy pose, with the title, "Rita Moreno: An Actresses' Catalog of Sex and Innocence."! Most actresses in that situation would have spent the rest of their careers playing Latin "bad girls", but Moreno wanted much more, and she had the talent to do so! Her breakthrough performance was as Anita in West Side Story and she won the Oscar as Best Supporting Actress. She has since alternated between movies, Broadway, and television, and is one of the few performers to have won an Oscar, a Grammy, a Tony, and an Emmy! In 1997 to 2003 she added considerably to HBO's ultra-gritty "Oz" series, as Sister Peter Marie Reimondo. And amazingly, in 2021, she had a major role in Steven Spielberg's remake of West Side Story, playing the widow of the store owner (and doing a fine job)! As of 2022, she is still alive at the age of 89! Important Added Info: Note that this reproduction still has been personally autographed (signed) by Rita Moreno. It is one of a collection of 30 reproduction stills which were consigned to us by a man who lived in Hollywood and worked in the movie business and met many stars in the 1960s to 1980s, and when he knew he would meet a celebrity, he would purchase a reproduction still of that celebrity, and get it autographed by them when he met them. We do not issue "certificates of authenticity", but we know the above to be true, and we feel 100% certain that the autographs on the stills in this collection are genuine. Note that we normally never sell reproduction movie paper, but we do so this time because the autographs are genuine and were obtained in person, even though they are on reproduction stills. We have put a generic date of "'70s" on all these reproduction stills, but they may have been created during the 1960s or 1980s. Condition: fine. Learn More about condition grades
