Burnett"; about a "perfect robbery" with a team of top professionals, but of course, everything unravels, partially through double-crosses; perhaps the best movie of its kind!) starring Sterling Hayden (as Dix Handley), Louis Calhern (as Alonzo Emmerich), Jean Hagen (as Doll Conovan), James Whitmore (as Gus Minissi), Sam Jaffe (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film; as Doc Riedenschneider), John McIntire, Marilyn Monroe, Marc Lawrence, Barry Kelley, Anthony Caruso, Teresa Celli, Brad Dexter, Don Haggerty, and Daniel Clarke. Note that Marilyn Monroe had a small part in Groucho Marx's Love Happy in 1949, and a few other small parts. She was given the small but important role of Louis Calhern's decades younger mistress in this movie. She only appears briefly, but she made a big impression!
