Somerset Maugham"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; about a dashing young man who breaks off his engagement and goes off to travel the world and "find himself", and he returns ten years later and his former fiancee wants to win him back, even though she is married to another man) starring Tyrone Power Jr., Gene Tierney, John Payne, Anne Baxter (winner of the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Clifton Webb (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), Herbert Marshall (as W. Somerset Maugham), Fritz Kortner, and Cecil Humphries (as the Holy Man) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Norman Rockwell Important Added Info: Note that 20th Century-Fox wanted to "help" this movie, which was certainly not an action movie, and likely needed help at the box office, and to do that, they hired famed Saturday Evening Post cover artist Norman Rockwell to create a striking one-sheet image (which they used on the style B one-sheet and also used on the half-sheet and some other items). This poster is extremely rare, and we have never auctioned it before! Condition: good to very good. The poster has a series of tiny tears scattered in parts of the vertical fold, with some creases to the left and right of most of the vertical fold. It has faint staining in the top of the "E" of "Edge" in the title and in the background next to it, and that has caused the poster to be rippled in that area, but only slightly discolored. It has three small tears in the background to the left of the "J" of "JOHN" in the upper credits area, and someone put a piece of tape on the back of that area (they also put tape on the back of each crossfold and also on the back of the top 3" of the vertical fold). There are tiny pinholes around the edges. After a simple linenbacking, this extremely rare poster will display wonderfully! Learn More about condition grades
