An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Charles Ray was an actor from the 1910s to the 1940s, and was a major star in silent films. Somewhere around 1920, Mr. Ray acquired a wire-haired fox Terrier named "Whiskers", and he gave Whiskers significant parts in at least a few of his movies (and apparently, the two were inseparable). Ray passed away in 1943 at the age of 52. If anyone knows more about Whiskers, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Some of his movies include: Rio Rita, The Busher, A Yank in the R.A.F. Slightlry Dangerous, The Garden of Eden, and Tennessee Johnson. Important Added Info: Note that this still is from one of the compilation movies made in 1959, and it shows an image of Mr. Ray from a silent movie "The Girl I Love".
