An Original Vintage Theatrical 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Ramsay Ames was an actress from the 1940s to the 1960s. She was also a pin-up girl and is likely best remembered for her role as Princess Ananka in "The Mummy's Ghost"; with Lon Chaney Jr. as the Mummy. Some of her other movies include: The Running Man, Below the Deadline, and Calling Dr. Death. She passed away in 1998 at the age of 79. Important Added Info: This still mystifies us. We certainly can imagine Universal paying her, but why would she be paying Universal? Maybe (and the clue is the glamorous photo of her at the edge of the check) she was paying them for a complete makeover at the start of her career? If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this still measures 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm]. Note that this still has a stamp on the back in the form of a diamond that has the letters "TRR". One certainly might wonder who placed this stamp there and why. The answer is that the still (and many others we are auctioning in this set of auctions) come to us from a still collector who has collected for many decades, and long ago he began stamping the back of his stills with this stamp, and "TRR" is his initials! Each of the stills is stamped lightly, and the stamp does NOT affect the front of the still. He is a VERY advanced collector, and he has consigned many wonderful stills to us! Condition: good to very good. Note that the still is rippled in the center and bottom center and that causes it to not lay completely flat. This causes "distortion" in our image because it does not lay completely flat in our scanner, but this distortion is solely in our digital image, and NOT in the still itself. There was a 2" tear in the middle of the right border that was repaired with clear tape from the back. Learn More about condition grades
