Date Sold 10/7/2012Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Magazine (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm]) (Learn More) Modern Man ("The Man's Picture Magazine"; "The Adult Picture Magazine"), one of the many men's magazines from 1951 to 1976, which had stories and articles that were supposed to be of interest "to men", but they were mostly interested in the nude and semi-nude pictures contained inside! Once Playboy magazine was published in 1953, magazines like these started doing the best they could to imitate it, trying to have more sophisticated articles, but their main appeal was still their nude photos. This magazine usually had a full-color "center spread" of a nude lady, but they couldn't afford to have a fold out, so it was just the middle two pages of the magazine. Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by Andre De Dienes (he was the photographer who first photographed Marilyn Monroe in 1946; he signed the magazine both on the cover and on the first page of the article about her, and above the start of the article, which says "One day in 1946", he added "1945" with his initials!). Also note that we have provided a picture of the front cover of the magazine, and pictures of interior two-page spreads (including the table of contents page if there is one; but we didn't make much effort to find the best ones!). These images should greatly help you judge the overall condition of the magazine, and the contents page lets you know exactly what articles and stories are contained in this particular issue. Please know that these magazines are sealed in bags and are ready for shipping, and we cannot answer any questions about them or look through them for you, so please bid (or do not bid) based on the images we have provided. Condition: fair. The magazine is missing its back cover and it was water stained in the top right of all pages, which has discolored them and caused some of them to have surface paper loss. If I owned this magazine, I would certainly take the cover and mat that by itself, and also take the interior Marilyn Monroe pages and remove those, and trash the rest of the magazine.
